Do you have a favorite picture book? There are so many fantastic ones to pick from. Some of my all-time top choices are in the above photo. But then I wondered what I’d choose from more recent titles.
The Bear in the Book by Kate Banks came to mind for its beautifully written story within a story. Hallensleben’s paintings are gorgeous, too. Speaking of bears, how cute are these books?

You have one of my absolute favourites: Miss Rumphius. Barbara Cooney’s ‘Emily’ is also a gem. So are the Chris Van Allsburg books, Oliver Jeffer books, Helen Cooper’s ‘Pumpkin Soup’ series, Dan Yaccarino’s ‘Every Friday’ and William Joyce’s ‘The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore’ and so many more. Love this topic!

I have quite a collection of picture books, in a small book case at my home. Many of the books you mentioned above, are favorites that I used to read to my preschool students!! One never is too old to appreciate a well written and well illustrated picture book!! Thank you for a most enjoyable post!!!
