Just a quick post to acknowledge this award.
What a nice surprise!
Thank you very much to Julie at jhbooksblog for nominating me for The Beautiful Blogger Award. There are so many well done blogs out there, covering interesting subjects, and I really appreciate being added to the best of the best list.
Here are the rules once someone is nominated:
-
Link to the blogger who took the time to nominate you.
-
List seven random things about yourself.
-
Nominate seven creative, beautiful bloggers.
-
Notify the amazing people that you nominated for the award.
OK, here we go. Seven Random Things About Me:
1. I haven’t watched TV in years, but I love movies and past series (just wrapping up Poldark–season one, which I borrowed from the library).
2. My current work-in-progress is almost done! After the holidays I’ll take another look at it.
3. Off the top of my head, a few favorite musicians include: Van Morrison, Neil Young, and Norah Jones.
4. I’m hosting this year’s Cookie Swap. My childhood girlfriends and I have been taking turns for the last 25 years. We draw names for the gift swap and bake 7 dozen cookies to share.
5. I’ve been working at a public library for the past ten years and will never tire of books (as in real books, not eBooks). 🙂
6. I don’t have pets, but there are lots of fish in my house. I’m partial to marine animals (see my About page) and lately I have a fondness for baby elephants.
7. I love art and enjoy dabbling with paints and paper cutting.
After a quick search, here are seven of the many blogs whose design and organization I admire. Go check them out. And Julie’s, too!
There’s absolutely no obligation to do a post for this award if you don’t want to. Just enjoy the extra traffic and feel free to ignore!

Oo! Yes – the Poldark series. I watch for free on my computer the day after each episode airs. I’m looking forward to January and their season 2. I think the best character is Demelza. The costuming and photography is great, too. And the 7 dozen cookies? Twenty-five years is very impressive – to have kept in touch to carry on that tradition. Sounds like fun. Sweet fun!

Yes, the series is well done, very atmospheric. Wish I could share some cookies across the miles, Pierr!

Mmm…I can taste the idea of those cookies…but you could share how you get snowflakes to fall over your blog. ;o) And congratulations on a blog award well deserved!

Ah, yes the snow, always a fun surprise each year! I’m not sure if all themes have the same set-up, but if you click on Settings, and then, General, there is a check box to have snow fall for a month.
