A Bookish Tea Party

Have you ever thought it would be fun to have a tea party? I hosted one a while back with fellow authors, illustrators, librarians, and readers in attendance. We played literary games, sipped tea, nibbled on scones and crumpets, and had great conversations!

As the author of Winnie-the-Pooh stated: “A Proper Tea is much nicer than a Very Nearly Tea, which is one you forget about afterwards.” ~A.A. Milne

OOOH, this is where I want to be. With such tea-time tea, I’d be fortified to face anything. The English knew what it was about.

I think it’d be fun to have a book tea party, or a book club in general (especially with a classic)! Looks like fun!

  5. 🙂 In the bottom picture, the teapots are Wind in the Willows & Alice in Wonderland. Even the salt & pepper shakers are little books and teapots. I found them kicking around a bargain store years ago. In the group picture, the sign above our heads is one of my favorite sayings: ‘It’s never too late to be what you might have been.’

I wish somebody I know would host a book tea part- I’d be there in two seconds flat! And the food looked delicious! And thanks for saying what the sign said, I was trying to make it out and not having any luck. 🙂

  7. I love this idea! I was thinking about hosting a tea party for the kids during the summer! I might have to talk with you about this some more. How funny. What a small library world we live in, eh?
